Rex walls- when he threw Jeanette in the water when she had newer swam before and basically put her in a sink or swim situation. she was able to eventually swim after nearly drowning. Jeanette was extremely angry with Rex but eventually got over it.
when Jeannette walls had to go to the hospital because she burned herself. she was cooking hot dogs by herself at 3 years of age when she burned herself. her father eventually stole her out of the hospital illegally after the doctors started to question some of the parents decisions.
when a new kid billy comes to town he tries to get Jeanette to be his girlfriend. one day the kids were playing hide and seek so Jeannette went in a little play house and so did billy. billy tried to rape her so she ran away.
when rex and rosemary get in a fight things escalate quickly. Rex tries to throw her out the window, when the kids come up stairs he pulls her back in the house and tries to make it seem like he is the innocent one and she tried to jump out of the house.

at the begging of the book when Rex was driving really fast in the car and went around a corner too sharply. Jeannette wasn't seated properly and fell out of the car door. she ends up getting all scratched up and Rex cant stop saying how sorry he is
rex walls is an interesting character because he makes alot of promises that he will do things but never ends up doing them. he is very smart and does a lot of good things but also does alot of bad things.
